Exercise for the brain is popular these days, but did you know that exercise we did was not only good for the heart and body weight but also an effective way to sharpen the brain.
“Sports is really more useful for the brain, not body, because the exercise is to influence mood, vitality, concentration and positive feelings for someone,” said John J. Ratey, MD, author of A User’s Guide to the Brain.
Stephen C. Putnam, Med, author of Nature’s Ritalin for the Marathon Mind, also expressed the benefits of sports for children with brain injury, such as hyperactive children. With sports activities, child behavior disorders may be reduced and their focus intensified.
In a study conducted Putnam known children who exercise 15-45 minutes before entering the classroom tend to have a better attitude and easy to concentrate in class. In addition to making the body feel fit, exercise will also make the brain more fresh.
The experts explain exercise affects many parts of the nervous system and trigger the release of hormones that cause feelings of love, joy and calm, such as serotonin and dopamine. That is why, people who diligently exercising less frequently affected by depression.
“When you exercise, you will think more clearly, more fit and more positive. This is purely about sport ilimiah because it stimulates the nervous system and function in the maximum level,” said Christin Anderson, MS, fitness coordinator at the University of San Francisco.
