People with vision problems such as glaucoma during this difficult exercise. There are few sports that can be done without having to make his condition worsened with the aerobic one.

Glaucoma is a sight which damages are usually caused by increased eye pressure. This is caused by an imbalance between production and disposal of fluid in the eyeball. This imbalance tissue damage delicate nerves in the retina and in the back of the eyeball.

“The more people active in physical exercise such as aerobics, jogging and cycling, it’s becoming more interesting to be able to identify the presence or absence of exercise limitation and prevention of exercise effects on eye pressure,” said Dr Irene Asouhidou, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, as quoted from Health24, Thursday (10/9/2009).

To find out the tests performed on glaucoma patients who did aerobic exercise with or not using a variety of eye drops to treat the glaukoma. The study involved 100 healthy people and 45 glaucoma patients.

A significant reduction in eye pressure occurs after aerobic exercise. Aerobic exercise is not too heavy can reduce eye pressure in glaucoma patients who use anti-glaucoma drops.

“Aerobic exercise is not too heavy like walking, jogging or cycling on a regular basis has proven useful and can be applied to glaucoma patients,” added Asouhidou.

Asouhidou adding the next step in this research is to identify the different types of exercise and its effects on eye pressure, especially for patients who were under treatment of glaucoma.

From now on glaucoma is not a barrier for these patients to not exercise.
